So, I have some explaining to do. . .
I have not been adhering to this newsletter’s bi-weekly release frequency.
In this video, I explain how I was pausing posting regular content on social media and on this Substack newsletter.
Why? Because having to figure out what content to create to stay in your feed (relevance) and determine what to write consistently for the newsletter is a lot while trying to write Book 2 and still show up for events for Book 1, Let Me Handle Your Heart. Ya girl was burnt out 😩! I’m not a content creator—I’m an indie author who has to make content to reach her audience, i.e. I work multiple jobs to move this ship 🚢. So, I need to constantly adapt to what I can sustain.
I’ve had four events for Let Me Handle Your Heart so far this year 🤩. Book club discussions, my intimate Black Love Day event, and my first pop-up book signing. One event a month may not sound like a lot to you, but it is for me, chil’ 😅. I’m not used to being this busy and talking to people like that. I know that the more I do it, the easier it’ll get. While I am sooo grateful for these opportunities and meeting readers 🙏🏾, the planning and preparing for these events are time and energy consuming.
So, this newsletter will model my author Substack’s frequency and my social media content schedule: there is no schedule. When I have something to share, I will post it 😊. If I don’t, it’ll be quiet here.
This newsletter is still a thing. It just won’t be knocking on the door of your feed or inbox bi-weekly anymore. Hopefully you appreciate that 😂🤷🏾♀️. Either way, don’t forget about me or this newsletter 😉.
